Crysis developer said to have new “big budget” game in development for consoles and PC.

Crytek already has a full slate, what with work ongoing on the Kinect-enabled title Ryse for Microsoft, THQ’s Homefront 2, and its first iOS title, Fibble – Flick ‘n’ Roll. However, the German game company has one more product in the pipeline as well, and it’s one that it expects to begin talking about next month.

Speaking to CVG, Crytek general manager Nick Button-Brown confirmed that the studio plans to announce a new “big budget” game for consoles and PCs in April.

“You know about Homefront, you know about Ryse,” Button-Brown said. “We are working on another project… [laughs] all three of which are looking really good…The other project looks absolutely fantastic–I mean, genuinely the best of that kind of project we’ve ever done.”

The obvious assumption would be that the new project will be a new installment in the Crysis first-person shooter franchise. Following on from 2007’s highly regardedoriginal, Crysis 2 scored a solid critical reception upon its release in 2011.

However, the studio has also been rumored to be reviving the TimeSplitters franchise. Crytek picked up franchise creator Free Radical in 2009, after that studio went bankrupt following the unsuccessful release of Haze. Though Free Radical officially announced TimeSplitters 4 in 2007, the franchise has lain dormant since 2005’s well-regarded TimeSplitters: Future Perfect.

Overwatch Map

You’ll fall 70 stories if you lose in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Overwatch map

Overwatch Map

The third map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3′s current content season is now available for Call of Duty Elite Premium members on Xbox Live.

Overwatch takes place in a construction site atop a New York City skyscraper, where battles will rage along two levels in a near symmetrical layout. A lack of safety barriers around the perimeter should provide plenty of chuckles for those who enjoy watching their enemies fall 70 stories to their deaths. The map is in the same general location of the New York setting in the single-player campaign, which depicts a world war in major cities of the globe. But it’s a fresh map for multiplayer fans.

Modern Warfare 3′s content season will ultimately include more than 20 pieces of brand new DLC over a 9-month period. The first maps, Liberation and Piazza, were launched last month. Another new map called Black Box and two new Special Ops Missions are coming in March. Call of Duty Elite Premium members on Xbox Live get first dibs on the content as part of an exclusivity deal Microsoft made with publisher Activision. PlayStation 3 and PC Elite members will get access to the DLC at a later date, while everyone else will eventually be able to download the content in a bundle pack.

The latest DLC in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Content Drop campaign is the “Overwatch” map. It is available now for Call of Duty Elite premium members on Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE.

Overwatch is a new map that is set on a construction site atop a New York City skyscraper and it’s the third DLC in a planned twenty new Content Drops that will be rolled out once a month over the next nine months.

The map is laid out over two levels with the central bridge and side routes, with no safety barriers around the perimeter adding a new level of danger for the player during combat.

Following the release of Overwatch, publisher Activision Blizzard is planning to push Elite Drops four to six for premium members on Xbox LIVE in March.

According to an Activision Blizzard spokesperson, the upcoming DLC is expected to consist of a multiplayer map called “Black Box” and two new Special Ops Missions, “Black Ice” and “Negotiator”.

While the content will be made available first on Xbox LIVE, premium members on Sony’s PlayStation Network will be able to access the content before non-premium members on their console.

Non-premium Call of Duty Elite members are able to purchase the new content via the Modern Warfare 3 Content Collections.

Battlefield 3 beta, flying tank

THE BUZZ: Betas have a lot of glitches. Some are game breaking and annoying, others are just plain funny. This one definitely falls into the funny category.

The tank featured in this video seems to be suffering from a severe identity crisis and believes its a jet, this is not good news for the people inside.

The Battlefield 3 open beta isn’t set to kick off fully for another couple of days but, as promised, those who pre-ordered the game through Origin or purchased the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor will be getting early access today — check Battlefield 3’s system requirements here.

Players will be limited to the “Rush” game mode on the map “Operation Metro,” where one team must attack two M-Com stations while a defending team tries to prevent them. Since the beta is multiplayer-only, gamers will have to wait until the full game launch on October 28 to play the single player campaign.
